This verse has really been on my mind this past week. Sometimes we truly do need to just be still and let God be God. He is bigger than any obstacle that may come our way.

Things May Be A Little Slow Around Here...
Please excuse my lack of craftiness and blogging this week...
My sewing machine and craft closet have been a little lonely, but more importantly my daughter has missed her mommy this week due to the craziness. It has been a hectic week, and I may not craft this weekend either so that I can shower my daughter with attention. I am hoping that things will calm down soon. Big changes are coming, and I hope you will bear with me through them...
Your readership and comments are so precious and uplifting to me! If you have a minute, could you take the time to say a prayer for my family and I this weekend. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe in a God that still works miracles. Thank you so much!

At The Little Gym
*WARNING: This post may contain some shameless mommy bragging.*
Lydia Grace has been going to The Little Gym for almost a year now. It is a great activity for Tim and I to do with her, and I have really seen it's positive effects. Since it was the end of the semester, all of the children were awarded a ribbon. I just couldn't help but capture lots of pictures of my little gymnast!
One of her favorite gym activities is the parachute.
I am amazed at how balanced she has become.
Risk taking is a skill they work on at TLG, and Lydia Grace has really excelled in that area.
Here is her initial reaction to the bubbles being brought out...
I just don't know where she gets all those expressive looks. Okay, maybe I do.
Football, anyone?
She was so proud of her ribbon!
And I am SO PROUD of her!

ABC Weekends: Letter D
We've made it to D for our ABC Weekends!
D was for Ducks! After going to church and eating a delicious meal at Mimi and Papa's house, we went to the duck pond to feed the ducks. Lydia Grace loved it! She kept saying, "Ducks go quack, quack, quack!" Our own little duckling cried when we left, but we promised her a return visit. Maybe we should make it a Sunday tradition...

My New Custom Sew-in Labels
I received an exciting package in the mail today...
It's the fabric labels I ordered from Tags and Labels to sew onto the clothing items I am selling in my Etsy shop. They turned out SO cute that I just had to share them with you. The Etsy entrepreneur that I ordered them from did a fantastic job! Now I am truly all set and ready to make my first sale...

Onesie Dress
Here is a onesie dress that I just finished tonight. My Etsy Shop has a showcase spot reserved for Thursday, so I am trying to make some last minute items before Jan. 20. Guess who I named it after. That's right! I named it after Lydia Grace. It's the Lydia Onesie Dress!
I was asked this morning if I cut off the bottom of the onesies when I make these dresses, so I thought I would give a public response: Although there are many cute onesie dresses out there that have the bottom half of the onesie cut off, I have designed a way to keep the onesie intact. I think it kinda defeats the point of having a onesie dress if the bottom of the onesie has been cut off. I love putting L.G. in onesies because it is an easy way to cover her diaper without having to add leggings or bloomers to her outfit, so I make sure that my dresses do the same thing. Thanks for the great question!
Happy sewing!

ABC Weekends: Letter C
C was for camping! Yes, that's right! We went camping in January. Well, it was climate controlled camping. We pitched a tent in our living room and "camped" within the comforts of our home.
Lydia Grace really wanted to help her daddy pitch the tent. I'm glad they knew what they were doing. I have never put up a tent in my life. I'm not very outdoorsy. I love nature and being outside, but I have never gone on a true camping trip. Maybe one day when L.G. is older, and it isn't so cold outside we will do the whole fishing, sleeping under the stars, waking at 4 a.m. to the sound of chirping birds type of camping trip. For now, this was a perfect way to camp.
Lydia Grace really loved playing inside the tent. She didn't want to come out. Well, until is was time to eat...
Hot dogs=the perfect camping food.
Southerners really know how to pile up their hots dogs: ketchup, mustard, chili, chowchow for relish, cole slaw, and cheese.
Confession: The chili and the hot dogs were vegetarian. Yep, I go the veggie way! Kinda defeats the whole "southern" thing, doesn't it? What an oxymoron! A southern vegetarian!
S'mores=the perfect camping dessert
When it got dark, we snuggled up inside the tent. Tim even told some campfire stories to Lydia Grace--nothing scary. We had a great time together! The tent really brought us together for some great family bonding time!
Our little camper got tuckered out and finally feel fast asleep. I can't even begin to tell you what a great evening it had been though.
Proving that having fun together as a family is as easy as ABC!

Happy Sunday!
It's a great day to praise the LORD!
If that doesn't put you in a mood to praise him this Sunday, then maybe these will...

Snow Day: Take 3
I went back to work today, but yesterday...
Going back to work today after having three snow days was rough. I really enjoyed my time at home with Lydia Grace. Sometimes I feel so guilty that I have to work. She is at an age where she doesn't really understand where mommy goes all day. It will be nice when I can explain to her and have her understand. I know that a lot of mommies have to work, but I still can't help feeling guilty when I leave her. There are so many moments I miss during the day. There are so many smiles, new words, milestones, and beautiful moments that I will never be able to witness. Don't get me wrong...I'm passionate about teaching, and I love my 4th graders, but my heart still breaks when I have to say goodbye to L.G. each day. Before Lydia Grace "graced" me with her presence, I never knew that leaving your child to go to work could be this hard...

Snow Day: Take 2 (Tuesday)
Another snow day thanks to the slushy, icy roads! Yay!
The house is cleaner than ever thanks to this.
(Yes, I have done every task on the list this month.)
The day off and the clean house gave Lydia Grace and I a lot more time to do this...
And it gave me a lot of time to do this during her nap time...
I love, love, love snow days! Do you want to know the best part? I get another day off tomorrow due to snow!
Princess Tea Party {Snow Day: Take 1}
I love snow days! It gives me more time to spend with Lydia Grace. So what do we do with all that extra time at home together? We have princess tea parties, of course.
The guests were all patiently awaiting the arrival of the princess...
Oh! Here she comes...
What did we do at our tea party? Well, we ate yummy treats,
put on our tea party hats and dressed up in jewels from the royal treasure box,
ate some more,
played with pinwheels,
read books,
ate even more goodies,
played with a princess paper doll book,
and just enjoyed being together.
What a great tea party!
The End!
