Lydia Grace does a science class for homeschoolers at the zoo each week. It's a great opportunity for her to learn and interact with others, and it also gives me some playtime with just the boys.
These two are only 18 months apart in age, so I've often gushed over my hope that they'd grow to be the best of friends. It's been part prayer and part hope. Please, for the sake of peace in the home, let my boys get along...especially since they share the same room. That's not to say that I expect them to never fight, but it is a supreme hope that they develop a very close relationship. Doesn't every momma wish that for her kids?! I may wish it a little more than some because I've had many close family members with less than amicable relationships with their siblings.
After Caleb was born, Eli mostly ignored the new bundle that was taking more of the attention away from him. He just couldn't see the bottle-slurping, babbling baby as a potential playmate. He's had quite a few jealous moments too. Now that Caleb is talking more and trying his best to keep up with his big brother, Eli is starting to see how much fun having a brother can be. Yes!
When these two get going, it becomes an adventure to keep up. They're digging, laughing, running, searching, and on a mission for fun! I'm sure if you have boys, you understand what I talking about. What a fantastic adventure it is! Here they are playing in their matching outfits from Fabkids while their sissy does her class. The clothes are comfy, warm, and perfect for two very active little boys!

DIY Sparkly Canopy Fairy Fort
Do you remember building forts when you were a child? My sister and I built countless little nooks out of the cushions and pillows from our couches. Oh, and I remember the forts we made outside using rocks, branches, and anything else we could scavenge. Many times, after being tucked in, we pitched the bed linens and blankets into a tent and pretended we were exploring the caves of a make-believe world.
A child's imagination is a fantastic thing! And the tiniest little space can become a great, big magical journey! That's why I was thrilled to team up with several other bloggers for a Fort Building Challenge hosted by Building Blocks and Acorns.
Each day in February a different blogger has been scheduled to share a themed kids' fort or den. There's everything from a Snow Fort to a Music Fort. Our theme was a Sparkly Fort. Lydia Grace and I took it one step further and created a Sparkly Canopy Fairy Fort. Come take a look...

Recipe for Whipped Lemon Cream Cheese Tartlets
A few years back I created a recipe for a whipped lemon cream cheese frosting. The recipe didn't go according to my original plan, but still ended up divine. You can read a little about that story here. That actually happens a lot. I have a plan in my head for a craft or recipe and something goes wrong. I don't believe in craft or recipe fails though. It's not a failure just because Plan A falls through. It's simply resorting to Plan B, C, and even Z if it takes that many tries. Much to my surprise, the delicious recipe took off as soon as I posted it and has remained my most popular post ever since.
Due to its popularity, I decided to come up with a brand new recipe using the frosting. That's when the thought occurred to me that not only does it make a great frosting, but it would also make a delicious filling for a tart. Thus the idea for Whipped Lemon Cream Cheese Tartlets came about.
Topped with fresh fruit, they make a scrumptious treat. Poor Caleb wasn't able to try them since he has a sever milk allergy, but they were certainly a big hit with my other two kiddos and the hubby. Ready to make some? Here's how...
