Ice Cream Dough: Sensory Dough Series

It is time for June's installment of the 12 Months of Sensory Dough Series! Each month 11 fellow bloggers and I are sharing our playtime adventures with dough. Last month was Moon Sand.  This month we're making Ice Cream Dough!
This has been my favorite so far! There are a lot of ice cream dough recipes floating around the internet, but most are missing what I consider to be a key ingredient--ice cream! Here's how the kids and I made edible ice cream dough that looks and tastes like real ice cream...

  • frosting (We used strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla to make neapolitan dough.)
  • ice cream mix

Blend together 1/4 cup frosting with 1/2 cup ice cream mix. You can add a little extra frosting or mix if needed to get the right consistency. Place the dough out along with scoops, sprinkles, and cones to create a delicious recipe for play!

You can read more about the Sensory Dough Series here.

  1. Mmmmm, looks delicious!! ps I love boys with long hair, so cute <3

    1. Thank you!

I love his long hair too. We keep having it trimmed, but I just don't have the heart to get it cut short yet.

  2. This is fabulous! Love that you used frosting and ICE CREAM MIX!!! Super smart idea! Though I didn't know such a thing even existed! So fun! Your pics are gorgeous too!

    1. Thank you so much for all your sweet compliments! The ice cream mix is what's used to make homemade ice cream in an ice cream maker. You can find it at most grocery stores during the summer months.

  3. This is SUCH an amazing idea!! Going to make some of this for my nieces and nephews this summer for a rainy beach day!

  4. Wow! I would have never know there was such a thing as "Ice Cream Dough" I know what our next summer project will be :D If you get a chance I'd love if you could link this up on My Favorite Things:

  5. Love this! Remind me to tell you what my Neopolitan Ice Cream Play Dough is getting me SEO for...

Each and every one of your comments means so much to me. I love to hear from friends both old and new. Thanks for taking the time to stop by my little corner of the world and thanks for taking the time to let me know you were here.
