The Life of Jennifer Dawn

Monday, July 4, 2011

We are having a cookout this afternoon and going downtown to see the fireworks tonight.  It will be Lydia Grace's first time getting to see firecrackers.

I remember my own parents taking my sister and I downtown to see fireworks when we were little girls.  We lived in Atlanta, Georgia at the time, and we would sit in the back of my dad's blue Chevrolet truck, drinking coke floats, and enjoying the view of a sparkling sky above.

I want L.G. to have special memories that she can look back on too.  What a fun day this is, but it is also a day to remember and appreciate the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.  Let us be thankful to God who has so richly blessed our country and let us be thankful to those who have given and dedicated their lives so that we may enjoy those blessings of freedom.

I hope you and your family are able to make some wonderful memories on this patriotic day.  Happy 4th!
