Lego Party

One of my son Eli's favorite things is Lego--the movie and the brick sets. He loves to go around singing "Everything is Awesome!" And it really was awesome to find these building block invites from Tiny Prints! I love that we were able to get personalized invitations with a photo of our birthday boy. They became the inspiration for his Lego themed party...

We held the party at our local Bricks 4 Kidz. With thousands of building blocks, it was the perfect place for our little Lego enthusiast. Not having to do the clean-up made it the perfect place for me too! I wanted to keep things as simple as possible so the focus could be on celebrating my sweet guy rather than trying to pull together an elaborate party. And isn't that where our focus should be?!

Gift tag stickers from Tiny Prints turned plain favor bags and paper plates into customized partyware.
Eli is my shy child. He needs some time to warm-up to new places. For the first little bit, he just wanted to cling to us. The owners of Bricks 4 Kidz were very understanding though, and they let him play when he was ready. That's how he's always been. On his first birthday, he burst into tears when everyone sang "Happy Birthday". It was just too much for him. At least there were no tears this year--just apprehension for the first thirty minutes. Then he played, devoured the Lego cake, and delighted in opening his presents.
