Ice Cream Dough: Sensory Dough Series

It is time for June's installment of the 12 Months of Sensory Dough Series! Each month 11 fellow bloggers and I are sharing our playtime adventures with dough. Last month was Moon Sand.  This month we're making Ice Cream Dough!
This has been my favorite so far! There are a lot of ice cream dough recipes floating around the internet, but most are missing what I consider to be a key ingredient--ice cream! Here's how the kids and I made edible ice cream dough that looks and tastes like real ice cream...

Ingredients:
  • frosting (We used strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla to make neapolitan dough.)
  • ice cream mix

Directions:
Blend together 1/4 cup frosting with 1/2 cup ice cream mix. You can add a little extra frosting or mix if needed to get the right consistency. Place the dough out along with scoops, sprinkles, and cones to create a delicious recipe for play!

You can read more about the Sensory Dough Series here.

I love his long hair too. We keep having it trimmed, but I just don't have the heart to get it cut short yet.

    1. Thank you so much for all your sweet compliments! The ice cream mix is what's used to make homemade ice cream in an ice cream maker. You can find it at most grocery stores during the summer months.
