This is already shaping up to be an exciting summer!

Yay!  We have internet again!  You may remember that we have been turning the house upside down in preparation for little Eli.  Well, when we moved the computer to its new home, the internet wasn't activated in that room.  Even after having the cable guy come out, it still wouldn't work.  Thank goodness my husband is very tech savvy and was able to get it working again.  I am excited to get back into blogging, and I have a lot of exciting projects, crafts, and recipes coming up.  For now, please allow me to share a few things we have been up to other than getting ready for the newest addition to our family...

Our summer is already off to a great start!  We kicked things off with the Summer Reading Festival at the World's Fair Park.  This event puts me in a summertime mood every year.

Robert Sabuda was there this year.  In case you don't know who he is...
He is a children's book creator who makes the most amazing pop-up books.
We had him sign one book for Lydia Grace and one for Eli.

My students finished up school at 11:00 a.m. last Wednesday.  Lydia Grace spent the rest of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with me at school until I was able to leave at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.  To celebrate the official start of my summer break, L.G. and I went to the zoo.

On Saturday, Lydia Grace had her Little Gym graduation class and received a medal.  We are taking a break from the gym this summer and doing Kindermusik instead.  She will be in a higher class when she returns to The Little Gym in August.

Lydia Grace has also had a couple of friends invite her to their birthday party recently.  The one we went to yesterday was at Build-a-Bear.  L.G. built a bear that she named Honey Bear.  I'm sure she will end up being a great little pal this summer...tagging along with us on some of our adventures...maybe even joining us for another Teddy Bear Picnic.
Aren't they cute?!

Well, now that I have shown you a few of the things we have been up to already this summer, I am off to make something yummy in the kitchen that I will share with you tomorrow.  Thanks for bearing with me lately through my bloggy ups and downs.  There are a lot of ups in store for this little blog this summer now that work and this pregnancy aren't zapping all of my energy.
We'll chat tomorrow over a tasty treat.
Hint: You may want to go out and get some strawberries before then.
Happy summer!
